June 28 - July 7, 2025

I'm so very happy that Kim and I have booked another adventure to Alaska.  In our previous six trips we've travelled with friends and have tried to do something unique that we have not done before.  But for this trip, we are strictly doing the cruise southbound from Whittier to Vancouver.  Love the smaller Holland America ships and that their itineraries include not one but TWO days in and amongst the glaciers.  Alaska 7.0!

June 29 - Rail Transfer To Whittier

This morning we will depart the hotel and board the scenic train for transportation down to Whittier where our ship, the MS Noordam awaits us.  Upon arrival we will check into our "Signature Suite"  #8058

June 28 - Travel to Anchorage

Depart Fort Lauderdale and travel to Anchorage.  We will spend the night and recover from the long travel day at the Westmark Hotel in downtown Anchorage.

June  30 - Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Today we will sail out as close as we can get to the massive Hubbard Glacier.  We've seen this before and we're hopeful that we can have a clear day and get close enough to hear the glacier cracking as well as see some calving as the massive ice chunks drop into the water below.

July 1 - Cruise Glacier Bay

When we've visited Glacier Bay with Holland before we have seen multiple glaciers.  It's a huge bonus for us to get TWO FULL DAYS amidst the glaciers.  Should get lots of amazing photos today.

July 2 - Skagway

We have spent out time in Skagway several times on a canoe trip out to a glacier - which sadly has shrunk from the first to the most recent time we've visited.  Lots of options today.

July 3 - Juneau

The best excursion we've ever been on in Alaska came on a visit to Juneau when we booked a small ship trip out to Sawyer Glacier and sailed within half a mile thru the ice fields.  Fingers crossed to repeat that!

July 4 - Ketchikan

We've often said we won't travel to Alaska on an itinerary that does NOT include a visit to George Inlet Lodge for an "all you can eat" crab fest of dungeness crab legs.

July 5 - Sailing The Inside Passage

It's always a relaxing way to end a "southbound" itinerary as you sail all day through the Inside Passage.

July 6 - 7:  Disembark In Vancouver / Travel Home

The cruise concludes on the morning of July 6th in Vancouver.  Typically flights home on the same day that the ship docks are less than desirable, so Kim and I like to stay in the hotel right across the street, overlooking the bay.  And we like to take the short walk to the restaurant that is right across the street from the old steam clock.  Then we can have our pick of flights home on July 7.
